Today, during worship, we sang one of my favorite songs. It is a favorite song, because it brings back memories of God's powerful work in my life. It gives me the power to be able to sing the song with joy in my heart, even when joy is not felt. When you feel the worst, it is the best time to stand up, and praise God. I find that when it is done, the burdens and troubles seem lighter. God hears our praise, as well as He hears our prayers, To be able, in the midst of a storm, to stand up, and say "God, I am in awe of you, and I praise you" puts your trust fully in Him that He can handle your burdens. It takes it off your plate, and gives it FULLY to God. As humans, it is hard to trust someone 100%, expecially when someone has broken your trust before. The wonderful thing is: GOD WILL NEVER BREAK YOUR TRUST! The triune God will never let you down. He will never hurt you, nor will He ever say "I don't have time for you, can't you see what I am going through?" His love is amazing, and the proof of that love is everywhere! My own life reflects it. When I look back on my life, I realize that God was there for me BEFORE I needed Him. Before I even turned to Him, He was standing there, with His arms wide open ready to enfold me in His love. No burden is too great for the triune God to bear.
In later posts, I will share what God has done in my life, and how He has truly been there for me. For now, I give you the song that means so much to me:
